Medical Droids

Programmed with an ecyclopedic knowledge of sentient anatomy and medical technology, medical droids often oversee and administer much of the treatment in any good hospital. Medical droids are often designed to look roughly humanoid, but so much of their artificial intelligence is consumed with medical knowledge that their personalities tend to be simple, calm, and obliging. Medical droids are probably the slowest and least agile of the humanoid droids.

Although medical droids are expensive, they are not uncommon to see in any reasonable hospital. With a staff of medical droids, a limited number of doctors could diagnose patients and administer the most complicated treatments themselves-- the rest would be in the hands of well-proven machines.
